'Running Nightmare': Cops Say Couple on Killing Spree

'Running Nightmare': Cops Say Couple on Killing Spree

A murderous couple remains on the loose after killing three women and critically wounding another in two states over the last week, authorities say.

On Feb. 6, in Escambia County, Florida, 28-year-old Kayla Crocker was shot and injured during a home invasion, they added. One of the victims, Alicia Greer, 30, was in a relationship with Boyette, while the other was identified as Jacqueline Jeanette Moore, 39.

Crocker's white Chevrolet Cobalt was stolen and the sheriff told news outlets that video surveillance confirmed Boyette and Rice took the vehicle to a nearby Shell station and ate at a Hardee's restaurant a short time after the attack. They say the child is now with his grandmother.

In Alabama, sheriff's investigators named the two in the capital murder warrants and said in a news release that Rice was with Boyette when Broz was shot and killed during the early morning hours of February 3.

Anyone with information about Boyette and Rice's whereabouts or actions should contact CrimeStoppers at 437-STOP, or call 911.

Monday's home invasion, and the linking of the three alleged crimes, immediately put on edge the small Gulf community of Escambia County, which includes the beach town Pensacola.

The Escambia County and Santa Rosa County sheriff's offices in Florida and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office in Alabama are among the law enforcement agencies involved in the search. "These may seem like measures in the extreme, but we're dealing with an extreme situation here". The vehicle could be in Baldwin County, Escambia County or even Mobile County if it continued traveling west.

It is not known what Greer's relationship was with Moore - but authorities believe that Boyette knew her as well.

In 2014, for example, he was accused of beating a girlfriend when she came from work smelling of alcohol. Rice is also wanted by police for her involvement. The arrest report, obtained by the Pensacola News Journal, stated that he told her if she reported the abuse he would "drag [a trial out] a make her life miserable". Charges were later dropped when she recanted her story.

"In short we have a killer, he is in our midst". In a bedroom, they discovered an unconscious Boyette, hand wrapped around a large kitchen knife.

Her father, Wayne Lane, said that two weeks before her death, Boyette 'choked her down to the ground, kicked her in the face, hit her in the head with an unopened two liter bottle of soda, so bad she had to have stitches in the top of her head, had to have an MRI of her skull'.

Morgan said he warned residents to stay alert.

The ECSO also released a portrait-view photo of Boyette's suspected accomplice Mary Rice.

"He has made this statement to many, many people that he will not be taken alive", Morgan said. Authorities "take those threats and those admonitions very seriously", the rep says.
