Ways Knicks Owner James Dolan May Have Contributed to Charles Oakley's Arrest

Ways Knicks Owner James Dolan May Have Contributed to Charles Oakley's Arrest

Yeah, Charles Barkley might wanna steer clear of Mr. Oakley.

The incident occurred halfway through the first quarter of the Knicks game against the Los Angeles Clippers, which NY lost 119-115.

It's unclear what started the incident. Coach Jeff Hornacek acknowledged it may have been a distraction but one he expected the Knicks to play through, and they had a chance to tie before Anthony missed a 3-pointer down 118-115. The villain is New York Knicks owner James Dolan. He also shoved another unidentified man before he was escorted out of MSG by security guards.

"With Charles you better have a good rationale for why you ask him to do something". And that is a past Knick fans like myseld continue to cling onto and hope that one day we can see again in some form.

What's maybe most fantastic about this video is the number of people that it takes to get him away from the seat. "We get there, sit down, trying to have a good time".

Soon security guards swarmed around Oakley. Dolan instructed security to have Oakley removed, but the former player had to be restrained by several security guards, striking several of them on his way out of the arena.

Oakley was arrested and charged with three counts of assault as a result of the altercation during the Clippers-Knicks game.

Fifth, THE CROWD CHANTS FOR OAKLEY!

The Knicks released a statement saying Oakley "behaved in a highly inappropriate and completely abusive manner".

As we reported Wednesday night, the former Knicks' strongman was dragged out of Madison Square Garden literally kicking and screaming, arrested, and hauled to a local police precinct.

Minutes after the scuffle the Knicks PR team released a statement claiming he needs help.

"I don't think you have anybody who could make it close that plays basketball", Anthony said.

"I want to say I'm sorry to all the fans of the Garden", Oakley said in a radio interview on Thursday, per Al Iannazzone of Newsday. I swear I was going to run down there and then I thought, 'What the hell am I going to do?' But I didn't like that.

"He don't want to meet with me", Oakley told The Undefeated's Mike Wise. He may not like me, but I bought my ticket to get in. Then they asked me to leave.

"I'm a Knicks fan for life", he said. "That's just pure Oakley, he's always been a fighter and he lay it down, that's basically what he does", Carroll said. "I just saw a commotion, guys standing up".
