Prince's discography has now hit streaming services

Prince's discography has now hit streaming services

Warner Bros. Records have announced that it will be remastering Prince " s "Purple Rain' LP, along with two new albums of unreleased songs from the Paisley Park vaults. Listeners can also jam out on Google Play and Amazon Music Unlimited, with Apple Music not far behind, Pitchfork reports.

The boards were part of their "Purple campaign" in collaboration with Warner Bros.

On Friday we reported that Prince's music would be available to stream on Spotify ahead of the Grammys, and now the moment has arrived and songs such as Purple Rain and Raspberry Beret are officially available on the streaming site.

"Prince recorded his most influential and popular music during his time with Warner Bros. and we are deeply aware of our responsibility to safeguard and nurture his incredible legacy", Warner Bros. Warner Bros. Records' Chairman and CEO Cameron Strang said the company is thrilled to share the late superstar's material. The new streaming deal pertains only to the artist's work on Warner - which he exited in the mid-1990s after writing "slave" on his cheek and changing his name to the unpronounceable "love symbol" to protest his contractual conditions. For almost two years, the late musician's discography has only been available to stream on Tidal.

Since the singers death his estate have begun making licensing deals to get his music returned to streaming services, which offer one of the biggest generators of revenue in the music industry. Now, because he didn't have his affairs in order before his untimely passing, record labels and publishing companies can make a sh*t load of money from his art.
