Ranking Member Of Missouri KKK Group Found Dead

Ancona was from Leadwood, Missouri.

The New York Post reported on Monday that Ancona's wife, Malissa Ann Ancona, 44, and stepson, Paul Edward Jinkerson, 24, were charged with first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and abandonment of a corpse.

On Friday (Feb. 10), police were alerted that Frank Ancona was reported missing on a Facebook post.

An autopsy released today confirmed that he died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Frank's son, Frank Ancona Jr., told police that other relatives said they had not heard from Ancona and a call to his employer verified that he wasn't sent across Missouri to deliver a part, the newspaper reports.

Zach Jacobsen, a sheriff who's involved in Ancona's disappearance and murder declared that the man's case began taking shape after the authorities discovered that his wife is waiting for more than a day before reporting her husband's vanishing. Once inside, the officers found a safe which had been busted open and any contents removed. One day later, his body was found in the Big River in Washington County.

Ancona's death comes after the KKK leader had faced an onslaught of criticism from protesters, along with other white nationalist groups who accused the man pandering to "Jewish" interests and being an informant.

The 51-year-old, who was the imperial wizard of the Traditionalist Knights of KKK, had been shot in the head.

Investigators found extensive blood evidence was found in the Ancona's master bedroom Saturday, and Malissa Ancona told police that Jinkerson shot her husband. Co-workers were concerned because he had missed two days of work, which was out of character for him, the Park Hills Daily Journal reports.

Frank Ancona's family last saw him Wednesday and he was reported missing Friday after his employer contacted police. She said he took the firearms with him. "She told us she figured she would need help to pay the rent, so she put an ad out looking for a roommate", Dickey told the media. He said deputies secured the area and on Saturday he requested assistance from the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The Leadwood Police Department is investigating and was assisted by St. Francois and Washington County Sheriff's Departments. The arrest came as a result of drug-related charges and was not connected to Ancona, Jacobsen said.

St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney Jerrod Mahurin declined to speculate on the motive for the crime.
