AT&T Goes Unlimited As Wireless Battle Rages On

Carrier unlimited moves continued to roll late Thursday, with AT&T following up a Sprint announcement with its own launch of a new AT&T Unlimited plan for all postpaid consumer and business customers. T-Mobile and Sprint had attracted millions of new customers with new, lower priced unlimited plans they introduced last summer. It's unclear how exactly this will affect those customers, but we'll be sure to provide an update as soon as details are made available.

With this plan, you can also make unlimited calls from the U.S.to Canada and Mexico, and send unlimited texts to over 120 countries. For four lines, you were paying $160 on Sprint's Unlimited Freedom plan. When you sign up for Unlimited Talk, Text and Data with Sprint AutoPay, you will receive your first line for $50 a month. In the case of AT&T, for example, if a customer uses more than 22 GB on a line in one month, downloads can be slowed. Customers looking for 4 lines can get into a package that costs $180. The catches with this plan aren't exactly "gotcha" moments or anything that turns the plan into an outright rip-off, but are mostly the same type of policies you would find at other carriers that now have an unlimited plan. T-Mobile and Sprint's updated plans will be available on Friday.

It should be noted that for you to experience HD video on T-Mobile's unlimited plan, you'll have to go in and manually turn the feature on from the web.

Sprint refuses to be left in the dust when it comes to all the new unlimited plan news. Lines three through five will be free until March 31, 2018. Unlike other carriers, Sprint's "Unlimited Freedom Plan" not only throttled all video to 1.5 Mbps, but also throttled game traffic to 2 mbps and streamed music to 500 kbps. The only carrier that includes taxes and fees in is T-Mobile.
