ZTE will showcase a gigabit phone at MWC

Both of these have Gigabit LTE capability.

For those of you wondering what indeed gigabit LTE actually is, it's a wireless technology that is able to support speeds of up to 1Gbps, which are far faster than anything 4G LTE offers. Even AT&T is taking steps towards faster "pre-5G", with plans for its 5G Evolution network this year.

Unsurprisingly, the ZTE gigabit phone is being tipped to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, as it includes an X16 modem capable of supporting gigabit LTE speeds.

ZTE has quite a portfolio of smartphones lined up for Mobile World Congress this year - so much so that the company has announced what may be its next flagship device a little early: the ZTE Gigabit Phone.

ZTE has said that it's going to unveil the ZTE Gigabit Phone at the Mobile World Congress 2017 later this month.

The introduction of the forward-looking smartphone, the ZTE Gigabit Phone, marks an important cornerstone for the 5G mobile era. Although no word on the specifications of the phone has been announced just yet, we should see some big specifications on the spec-sheet when the phone is released this MWC 2017.

Now, let's talk a bit more about this smartphone, shall we. The company also believes that it would also help to cater 360-degree panoramic virtual reality videos, 4K videos, instant cloud storage, ultra Hi-Fi music and movies on the go.
