College dropout Mark Zuckerberg is finally getting that Harvard degree

College dropout Mark Zuckerberg is finally getting that Harvard degree

The Facebook founder and CEO will be Harvard University's commencement speaker in May. However, a few of us know that the founders of these tech breakthroughs are college dropouts. Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates qualified but did not graduate at Harvard University.

Twelve years ago, Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard to concentrate on developing his online social network platform which is now worth almost 400 billion dollars and is one of the largest companies in the world.

Harvard's president Drew Faust praised Zuckerberg's involvement in changing "the nature of social engagement in modern times". Bill Gates spoke at Harvard commencement in 2007, a fact that clearly wasn't lost on the Harvard communications department, which put together this video. Incidentally, Zuckerberg attended that address - at the time, his wife Priscilla Chan was graduating.

To celebrate, and ask for advice we suppose, Zuckerberg posted the below clip to Facebook, featuring another relatively-unknown person...

Now, Zuckerberg will be finally getting the computer science degree he left midway in 2005 to build Facebook.

The video shows Zuckerberg and Gates talking to each other seriously.

"Oh, that is the best part, they actually give you degree", Gates said, promising to help Zuckerberg he would help him figure out what to say.

The social network was once exclusively for college students, but now is used by more than one billion people each day.

Always happy to help, Mark. Zuckerberg is slated as the featured speaker at the university's 366th commencement in May. "Good luck on your speech", comments Mr Gates on the Facebook video. "They actually give you a degree".

I think both of you took the hard way.
