Criss Angel 'rushed to hospital' after magic trick mishap

Criss Angel was hospitalized and his Mindfreak Live! show at the Luxor in Las Vegas was cut short Friday after he appeared to lose consciousness in the middle of a risky stunt. Tickets were still on sale for Saturday's and Sunday's shows.

Angel was taken to Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center. One anxious Criss Angel fan took to Facebook to share his experience.

"What an terrible experience!" Criss Angel's straight jacket act required him to be dangled upside down in a straight jacket. Sehl wrote, "He stopped moving, curtain down". Now show canceled... Hope he is ok!

Reps for Angel did not immediately return requests for comment. He was discharged hours later.

Afterwards a message was posted on Criss's official Twitter account, saying he hoped to be back on stage on Saturday.

"During Friday evening's performance, while attempting his famed upside down straitjacket escape while suspended by his feet, he lost consciousness".

Continuing with her statement of Angel's mishap, his rep said he was thankful for the overwhelming love and concern his fans from all around the world have shown during this time.

The statement added that due to the events that occurred on Friday, Criss and his son Johnny Crisstopher were unable to attend a previously scheduled appearance at a fundraiser for Make‐A‐Wish of Southern Nevada. "In his absence, a representative of HELP, the non‐profit Criss created to find a cure for pediatric cancer, presented Make‐A‐Wish with a $100,000 donation".

This isn't the first time that particular stunt has resulted in injury for the star.

Witnesses had described the incident on social media. It was announced that the audience would break for five minutes.

Criss Angel has reportedly left the ER after his recent stunt gone wrong, USA TODAY confirms. "Then the crew and cast from the show got a stole and they untied him and brought him off stage".

After spinning in vain for about 2 minutes, he was quickly lowered down and the curtain closed onstage.
