New trailer shows origin of 'Wonder Woman'

Warner Bros. UK is pleased to reveal the official origin trailer for the highly anticipated WONDER WOMAN.

The new trailer introduces baby Diana with mother Queen Hippolyta showing her the treasures of Themyscira, that includes lasso of truth, bracelets of submission, the sword of Athena, shield, and the armour. Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman is the next film set in the DC Extended Universe, starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman.

"She's a woman who loves people for who they are", Gadot, who is now expecting her second child, told Variety in October when asked about Wonder Woman's sexuality. We see the Furious 7 actor look fierce in her role as the Wonder Woman. While we've already seen a few trailers of the upcoming film, this one just builds a whole new excitement for the release date. She had first introduced a new poster of the film and had informed the fans there is a big surprise awaiting everyone the next day. "If no one else will defend the world, then I must", says Diana.

Thankfully, this new trailer does not show any major spoilers of any kind.

Joining Gadot in the global cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. "I think in the world today we've had plenty enough of male-driven everything". The duo of director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot seem to have found the ideal recipe for Wonder Woman's first live action appearance ... and the first summer blockbuster directed by a woman ... and the first female superhero movie to be directed by a woman.

Seriously, HOW are we supposed to (calmly) wait for the June 2 release? When her powers awaken, she departs to England to help stop "the war to end all wars".
