Nintendo Switch: Wi-Fi issues may be impacting frame rate

Nintendo Switch: Wi-Fi issues may be impacting frame rate

The key selling point of the Nintendo Switch is its myriad of playstyles.

"The Switch's chameleon-esque ability to change between being a home console, a handheld, and a mobile party-game machine helps it rise above its individual shortcomings, but only to an extent". While Nintendo has not yet released exact sales numbers, we do know that the Wii sold over 600,000 units in its first week or so and to date, the Wii has sold over 100 million units, joining the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 as one of the most popular consoles globally.

"We're impressed with the hardware on offer with the Nintendo Switch - with some occasional frustrations". First of all, the hack will only enable anyone to access features of the Nintendo Switch not normally available to a common user. "We've enjoyed the Switch - and absolutely adore Zelda - but Nintendo still has some work to do".

Meanwhile, GAME appears to be rather satisfied with how the Switch launch worked out, too. As a plus, some games will allow you to share the second Joy-Con with a friend to play with. So, when exactly there will be more meat for us to bite into is unknown for now, but there are some exciting games on the way, at least.

It is further ascertained that the hacker has just used an existing exploit from iOS without really investing any effort into modifying the current firmware on Nintendo Switch. The biggest misstep is the fact that it uses friend codes still, instead of giving users their own profiles (as is the case with every other system).

By extension, that also means "pirates" who are waiting for a release better not hold their breath just yet, not to mention that Nintendo is known to be pretty quick in patching up issues such as this, and considering the exploit went public, the company is doubly sure to notice it. This suggests that Nintendo either didn't pay attention to the vulnerability or they rushed the launch.

Now that the Switch is on the market, though, that prediction seems not to be bearing itself out. Thankfully, it's a much more exciting proposition for players: home console-quality gaming on the go. "The number [of Joy-Con replacement or fix requests received] is not significant, and is consistent with what we've seen for any new hardware we have launched", the statement reads.

MCV a United Kingdom video game magazine spoke with retailers regarding the stock levels of the Nintendo Switch. The doomsday scenario they insinuated just simply did not happen, which is a stark reminder to all of us that the opinions of the press are not necessarily the rule and surprises can still occur.

It's $300. Another $70 if you want the Pro Controller (you probably do) and $60 for "Zelda" or most other games.
