Charges dropped against ex-New York Jets player Darrelle Revis

Charges dropped against ex-New York Jets player Darrelle Revis

According to Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network, Revis said Wednesday that he hasn't yet fielded any calls from teams interested in his services. About his legal situation, anyway.

The free-agent cornerback had been facing four felonies and a misdemeanor stemming from a street fight in Pittsburgh last month, but all charges were dismissed during a Pittsburgh court hearing Wednesday.

Revis was accused of fighting two men and injuring them badly after they had approached him and began to film him with their cellphones.

Revis appeared in municipal court Wednesday where the judge made a decision to dismiss the charges after hearing testimony from one of Revis' childhood friends.

Bolton's attorney insisted his client wasn't just a "fall guy" for Revis.

It's now unknown whether the full dismissal of the pending charges against Revis will change that.

"That would be a discussion with the management and the coaches", Revis said, laughing. The former New York Jets cornerback, who was released by the team after the incident, now has a chance to rebuild his career if he chooses and if teams believe he still can play following a tough season. Two years ago, the Steelers were a surprise inclusion in the chase to sign Revis after his deal with the Patriots expired.
