Spectacular crash after SUV slams into gas pump

Spectacular crash after SUV slams into gas pump

"Our hearts and thoughts go out to all those involved in this bad accident, and the driver has been removed from the app", an Uber spokesperson told KOMO, adding that Uber was working with the Seattle Police Department. The Uber driver, who was transporting a 40-year-old woman, was driving his Nissan X-Terra northbound on Holman when he allegedly struck another vehicle, a Honda Civic.

After hitting the Accord, the SUV continued down the road, hopped a curb, went through a parking lot, then barreled through the gas station.

The 35-year-old driver of the Accord was the most seriously hurt in the freaky incident.

The crash involved a 60-year-old Uber driver who was carrying a 40-year-old passenger, KOMO-TV reports. The driver of the Accord, which split in half after hitting a tree, reportedly was taken to a hospital for serious injuries.

The SUV kept traveling northbound another two blocks where witnesses say it caught on fire.

Investigators say the SUV crashed into a vehicle earlier, pushing it off the road and into a tree.

Witnesses said the SUV missed two gas pumps, but it clipped a third and the pump burst into flames.

The passenger only sustained minor injuries and the driver was fine, despite the blast. He was checked for signs of impairment and a blood sample was taken. The company says it will work with the Seattle Police Department during its investigation into the accident.
