Raiders interested in Marshawn Lynch, according to ESPN

Raiders interested in Marshawn Lynch, according to ESPN

They have been staring Lynch down, not because they dislike.

Lynch didn't play last season after announcing his retirement in February 2016. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Raiders have been busy in free agency, though their meetings with top running backs haven't gone that well.

It's ironic, however, that Oakland is potentially preparing to bring back a prodigal son in the same month it hopes to get the OK to uproot the franchise and move to Las Vegas.

They would have to decide to keep, cut, or trade him.

One NFL personnel source believes it all starts with Lynch and his mindset.

But on that same show, Lynch's agent, Doug Hendrickson, left the door open for the possibility that is suddenly being rumored - Lynch finishing his career playing for his hometown Raiders. If he lands another 1,000 yard season he will be on the top 20 list for backs. Peterson's 2,418 carries are the second most in the league, and Lynch's 2,144 attempts are the fourth most in that time frame.

He would have to be playing for the right team, and receiving the right numbers. In addition, he played his college football for the California Golden Bears, at nearby Berkeley. He could be polishing off his monstrous legacy.

The two teams could work out a trade, or the Seahawks could release Lynch and make him available. Lynch, 30, is reportedly still in good shape and has debated making a comeback to the gridiron.
