March Madness 2017 NCAA Tournament schedule

Seventh-seeded MI and second-seeded Louisville have tipped off Sunday's second-round games in Indianapolis. Louisville's adjusted defense on KenPom is also ranked 7, but they are susceptible to giving up points.

Moe Wagner and D.J. Wilson each averaged fewer than three points per game as freshmen in limited minutes one year ago.

Louisville leads the all-time series 3-0, with one win in Louisville, one in Ann Arbor and most recently in the 2013 championship game in Atlanta.

Louisville's Jaylen Johnson shoots the ball against Jacksonville State during the first round of the NCAA tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on March 17, 2017. In the meantime, the ACC doesn't have any regional semifinalists yet and is down to just two teams left in the tournament: North Carolina and Duke. Struggling against N.C. State and guard Cat Barber in the 2015 Sweet 16, short of players especially in the backcourt, Pitino got 14 points and 3 assists from freshman point guard Quentin Snider, who played double-figure minutes only four times in 12 ACC games before senior guard Chris Jones' dismissal.

MI will play either OR or Rhode Island in the Sweet 16. MI marches on to the Sweet 16 with a 78-70 victory. There was no repeat performance two days later as MI hit only six of its 17 3-point attempts.

After two years of surprise early NCAA Tournament exits, Baylor finally broke through. Walton scored 10. Donovan Mitchell paced Louisville with 19 points while Deng Adel scored 16. The Cardinals won the battle on the glass (37-30) and their bench even outscored Michigan's, 15-3. Coach John Beilein's Wolverines whittled their way back to within 27-26 and then tied the score for the first time at 28-all with 1 1/2 minutes to go until intermission.
