New Samsung Galaxy S8 details emerge online, pricing and color details leaked

New Samsung Galaxy S8 details emerge online, pricing and color details leaked

While the Galaxy S5 Neo received the March Security Update earlier this week, it was the turn of the Galaxy Prime Plus, Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) to receive their own March security patches over the past couple of days.

It is interesting that for the first time the leaked information and picture of Galaxy S8 appeared in media on the last day of Mobile World Congress, the largest mobile phone trade show in the world.

Given that Samsung has openly mocked Apple's controversial decision to drop the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, it seems safe to assume that the S8 will offer the familiar audio connection. But it may end up consuming a lot of storage space. The report also states that "iris and facial detection capabilities complement each other: phones can rely on iris detection when there's not enough ambient light to recognize facial features".

Previous Samsung handsets, including the ill-fated Note 7, allowed users to unlock the phones with their eyes.

A new report from Bloomberg has suggested that the Galaxy S8 would use a front-facing sensor to scan the face of the user for unlocking. Tech informant, Evan Blass recently shared possible price details for several products Samsung is expected to release soon.

Meanwhile we are hearing that the Galaxy S8 will have facial-recognition technology for mobile payments.

All three methods can be used to verify the identity of the user for accessing different services including Samsung Pay.

Should the report turn out to be true, I would expect very similar functionality from the Samsung and Sony sensors.

What we have now are just rumors and this is another one; The Galaxy S8 duo may come with increased screen-to- body ratio (5.8 inch and 6.2 inch display), along with a higher resolution panel (2,960x 1,440 pixels).

If you're looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy S8, and if you love shooting slow-motion videos (i.e. filming yourself walking away from a massive explosion in slow-motion like a "Fast and Furious" movie), then you're about to enter slow-mo paradise. The paragraph also hints that the Bixby assistant will be able to control everything that we need the touch-interface for, via voice recognition.
