Prosecutors: Facebook assault victim was threatened with dog

Prosecutors: Facebook assault victim was threatened with dog

In January, Chicago police arrested four people following a separate incident in which a man's alleged assault was live streamed, also on Facebook Live.

"Tonight, CPD (Chicago Police Department) arrested the first of several juvenile offenders in the Facebook sexual assault incident", the department's chief spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on Twitter twtr , adding that a news conference would provide further details on Sunday.

Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Maha Gardner said the 15-year-old, identified in court by only his initials, was with another boy - both acquaintances of the girl - when they encountered her in a park on March 19 and lured her to a basement where the assault took place.

"She's just having such a hard time even communicating what occurred to her", Deenihan said at a Sunday news conference, the Tribune reported. Pending the trial, the 15-year-old and his accomplice have been moved to a Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.

"As a father of young women myself, I am so inspired by her strength". She also said that most of the sex acts were carried out by the 14-year-old.

The 15-year-old, who recorded video of the attack that he sent to a witness via Facebook Messenger, slapped the victim on the head while she performed oral sex on him.

The suspects will be charged as juveniles, according to Guglielmi.

The 15-year-old boy and his mother showed up at the Ogden District police station on the city's West Side so the teen could turn himself in, The Chicago Tribune reported.

Supt. Eddie Johnson reportedly said Sunday that the boys will be punished for the "absolutely horrific" attack on the young girl.

"The very nature that he's in the video. one can assume he was manufacturing child pornography", Judge Patricia Mendoza said.

A 14-year-old boy arrested in the case over the weekend faces the same charges.

"Just bring them in, and get their name and their statement and their accountability of what happened", said crisis responder Andrew Holmes.

The teen was treated at a hospital after the assault before returning home to her family. And police said the bullying hasn't risen to the level of criminal conduct. The girl's mother later told The Associated Press the girl and the family were being taunted online and ridiculed and harassed by children in their neighborhood.
