Holy Week services planned at area churches

Traditional service at St. John's Episcopal Church, 5987 Richmond Road, Warsaw. On Easter Sunday, services will be at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

St. Ann Catholic Church, 830-779-3131, will have a Mass of the Last Supper on Thursday at 7 p.m. Stations of the Cross will be on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a bilingual Mass at 7 the church. There will be no Holy Saturday service.

The La Vernia Ministerial Alliance, 830-253-8905, will sponsor "The Community Carries the Cross" on Good Friday, starting at 10 the entrance of the La Vernia City Park. The weekend events tie up for the church with a 9 a.m. potluck breakfast with a regular service at 10 a.m on Sunday.

Area churches will celebrate with special Holy Week and Easter Sunday services this week. The first in the Memorial Garden at 8:30 a.m. and the second and third with Holy Communion in the sanctuary at 9 and 11 a.m.

FERRISBURGH CENTER COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCHThursday, April 13, 7 p.m., Maundy Thursday: Tenebrae and Communion, Vergennes United Methodist Church. The two churches will hold another combined service Friday at 7 Venango for Good Friday. Friday April 14, 1 Saturday April 15, 1 p.m., 24-hour prayer vigil, Middlebury United Methodist Church. Easter worship 10 a.m.

Trinity Episcopal, Jersey Shore - Good Friday service at noon. Worship will be held at First Church at 10:15 A.M. All are welcome. Sessions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. April 28 and from 9 3 p.m. April 29. There will be a breakfast following the program with Sunday School at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m.

The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is Saturday from 7:30-10:30 191 E. Gladys Ave. In case of rain, the service will be held at the church.

First Baptist Church of Calhoun Heights will celebrate its Pastor and Wife's third anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Guests will be Rev. Robert Harris and Salem Baptist Church. Easter celebration will be at 10:30 a.m. Stations of the Cross on Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m.

Gainesville First Baptist Church -The Gainesville First Baptist Church, on Third Street in Gainesville, is hosting a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 14. The service for the Daytona Beach churches will be held at Mt. Zion, 449 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church, corner of Church and Middle streets.

Wodonga Sacred Heart: Holy Thursday Mass 7.30pm. A concert will be given beginning at 3 p.m. April 30. Saturday, April 15, 7 p.m. Rev. Gerald Ledbetter from West Point Presbyterian in West Point is preaching at 12:30 p.m. CST. Maundy Thursday liturgy, April 13, at 7 p.m.

Warsaw United Methodist Church, 287 Main St., service at 7 p.m. Prayer, music and candlelight reading from the stories of Jesus at the cross.

RACINE - Morning Star UMC, 7 p.m. Pastor Jim Marshall invites the public. The event runs from 10 11:45 a.m. Easter Service, Sunday, April 16, 8:45 a.m.

April 13 - Maundy Thursday Holy Communion Services begin at 7 p.m. with meal and fellowship at 6 p.m.

Several area churches are offering Holy Week services this week. Ben Wright is at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 8 p.m., Great Vigil of Easter. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:00 a.m. March 27, 6:30 a.m. sunrise service at Pigeon Cove Chapel, 155 Granite St., Rockport.

The Dave and Buster's in Sugarloaf presents its Rockin with the Rabbit Breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Good Friday service. April 16, 10 a.m.

Sugar Valley - Good Friday service 7:30 St. John's United Church of Christ, Tylersville/ Saturday: Egg hunt and party 1:30 St. John's United Church of Christ/ Easter sunrise services: 6:30 Big Rock by Albright United Methodist, and 6:30 the Eastville church.
