The Wizarding World of 'Harry Potter' announces magical

It was just announced that the Harry Potter areas in both Orlando theme parks would transform for the Christmas season to bring even more fun to those visiting Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. "Incredible state-of-the-art projection mapping and special effects will wrap the iconic castle - bringing holiday spirit and memorable Christmas moments from the Harry Potter series to life like never before". There will be holiday decorations everywhere, from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley.

A new parade will also be running, featuring floats, balloons, and characters such as the Minions from Despicable Me, DreamWorks characters from Madagascar and Shrek, Santa Claus himself and more.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is gifting us a some much-needed Christmas in April.

Returning this holiday season is Universal's Macy's parade, but with a new twist.

The light show is the highlight of the announcement however, as senior director of entertainment Michael Aiello states that Hogwarts castle will undergo quite the transformation.

These new experiences will join other beloved holiday traditions at Universal Orlando Resort for its destination-wide 2017 Holidays celebration.

The event will run from November 18, 2017 to January 6, 2018, so start booking those vacations now. Meanwhile, vendors will sell the food and drinks served over the holidays in the books and movies.

Mannheim Steamroller concerts and Grinchmas festivities will be included in Universal's plans for the holidays, a spokeswoman said.

Universal Orlando's theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure, are home to some of the world's most exciting and innovative theme park experiences including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Hogsmeade and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Diagon Alley. Universal Orlando will provide updates over the coming months to let guests know more of what is in store for them later this year.
