Soon prototypes with a dual screen OLED foldable — Samsung Galaxy X

Koh also said the firm plans to use the S8 to try to recover in China, where Samsung has been out of the top five vendors in recent years due to heightened competition from local rivals such as Huawei. In an official tweet this morning, Samsung will be "unboxing" its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus on the 19 of April, 2017.

"Samsung is now seeing an extremely positive market response for the S8 and S8 Plus with the number of their preorders having surpassed 700,000 in the Korean market". The Galaxy S8's smartphone dock comes with a $149.99 price tag, and it will be released on April 20 on Amazon, while the Samsung confirmed its shipping by the early part of May.

CNN Money reveals that recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has cost the tech giant over $5 billion. which resulted in the eventual death of the Note 7.

"The economically priced, high-performing Galaxy J series sustained Samsung's shipments and contributed significantly to the expansion of the brand's overall smartphone production volume", TrendForce reported. This could indicate two things: Firstly, that the Samsung fans are unfazed by last year's Note 7 fiasco wherein the devices were reported to have experienced freaky battery issues.

Now, attention has turned to what Samsung has planned for its next launch, with the company set to explore several avenues in developing new and exciting devices.

The device is expected to feature a massive 6.4-inch Super AMOLED with a near bezel-less look, thanks to Samsung's new "Infinity Display" technology. According to the folks over at SamMobile, Samsung is working on the Galaxy S8 Active with a model number SM-G892A codenamed Cruiser that's destined for AT&T.

Of course, if you're looking for a flat-screen version of the Galaxy S8, then the Active might be just what the doctor ordered.

With the Samsung Galaxy S8 launched, many wondered if there will be an "Active" variant that will be launched this year. "We will work hard to increase our presence in the market no matter how long it takes", Koh added. This is because nearly every major United States carrier has the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 plus ready and this also goes for tons of other carriers. This is the Galaxy X, on which Samsung has been planning for a while.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are scheduled to hit shelves in the USA and some other markets from April 21.
