Melissa McCarthy returns as Sean Spicer in Easter bunny suit on 'SNL'

Melissa McCarthy returns as Sean Spicer in Easter bunny suit on 'SNL'

McCarthy played the part dressed as the Easter bunny, a reference to the times during the George W. Bush administration when Spicer actually donned the bunny costume during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Baldwin's Trump calls Steve Bannon in, who happens to be the Grim Reaper.

Still, though Fallon appears in a sketch that is critical of Trump, and though he portrays White House advisor Jared Kushner wearing a bullet proof vest, he is silent except for his "It's Saturday night!" close to the cold open.

McCarthy's Spicer apologized for certain offensive remarks made by the real Spicer during a briefing on April 11.

Last week, Spicer came under fire when he attempted to compare the chemical weapons attack ordered by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the horrors committed by Adolf Hitler in World War downplaying Hitler's chemical weapons use against his own people. McCarthy's fictional Spicer took offense at being corrected for "every little slur and lie I say", before offering up all manner of anti-Semitism.

McCarthy's skit on SNL was meant to shine a spotlight once again on Spicer's ill-advised Hitler-Assad comparison.

"Have you seen my tweets on North Korea?".

Expanding on a motif from her previous appearances as Spicer, McCarthy asked for her "baby dolls" to illustrate the history of "Passover, aka Jewish Easter". "I'm aware", Spicey says.

"I said at least Hitler never used chemical weapons and everybody freaked out".

"Yes, you all got your wish this week, Spicey finally made a mistake", she began.

Of course, Spicey had to again apologize for his recent comments about "Holocaust centers".

"They were all like, 'Boohoo, what about the holocaust centers?' And yeah, I know they're not really called 'holocaust centers.' Duh!"

Jimmy Kimmel had already taken a swipe at Spicer, but with all due respect to Kimmel, this sketch is a step up, with McCarthy nailing Spicer's unfortunate tendency to shoot stuff straight out of his mouth without thinking of the consequences.

Spicer goes on to say that he was "sorry" the incident occurred on Passover, or "Jewish Easter" as he branded it.
