More than 21000 expected at Trump's first Easter Egg Roll

More than 21000 expected at Trump's first Easter Egg Roll

The "egg roll" itself is a race, in which children push Easter Eggs through the grass of the White House's southern lawn with long-handled spoons.

The day before, Melania wore a belted white dress - also sleeveless - to attend a church service in Palm Beach, Florida with her husband, son Barron Trump and stepdaughter Tiffany Trump. "We will be stronger and bigger and better as a nation than ever before", Trump said to the families gathered on the White House lawn.

This year, the White House was slow to make tickets available or to detail its plans, leaving some of the event devotees to fret that the first family would do away with the longtime tradition, which dates back to 1878. About 35,000 people attended a year ago, when then-first lady Michelle Obama organized a carnival-like affair with pop singers, celebrity chefs and professional sports stars.

"We're going to come out and join you, enjoy your company for a roll-a great Easter Egg Roll". Even before the Donald Trump took the oath of office, the country's eyes have been on this now-first lady.

"The Easter Egg Roll is one of the most visible events and a time when the White House is showcased to a large number of people".

Children run during the White House's annual egg roll on Monday.

Anna Cristina Niceta Lloyd auditioned for the job of White House social secretary and may not have known it. He, the first lady and Barron also joined kids at a table to color cards to send to USA service members.

And in 2016, at the Obamas' last Easter Egg Roll, the first couple pulled out a few dance moves.

Spicer has a history with the Egg Roll himself: as a staffer in the George W. Bush administration, he was the man inside the Easter bunny suit. In the years that followed, Harry went to war in Afghanistan but by his late 20s, he felt a "fight or flight" sensation during royal engagements and was struggling with anger issues where he felt "on the verge of punching someone".

The Martin Family Circus, a six-person family band from Nashville, is set to perform at the event, according to Politico.
