Samsung Galaxy S8 owners facing red tinted display issue

Sources have added that Samsung is aiming to sell more than 60 million units of the Galaxy S8, up from 52 million unit sales of the Galaxy S7.

Apart from the reddish tint issue, Samsung's new Galaxy S8 is facing complaints from global consumers about the use of its Bixby button being limited only to the operation of the voice assistant Bixby. A fact that has been confirmed by Philip Berne, one of the company's manager in the US.

A couple of people say they weren't able to modify the color because the display panel was already optimized. But there have been unverified reports of customers visiting service centers to correct the problem and being told change their handsets.

Samsung issued a reply saying that the reddish tint is not a quality problem and that customers can simply change the color configuration from Settings. No doubt, Samsung will want to win back customers, gain their confidence and regain the credibility it lost due to Note 7.

XDA Developers reports that a Samsung update blocked the ability of users to remap the Bixby button to other functions.

In the photo above, it's clear that the Galaxy S8 Plus produces better colors, which is especially noticeable in the blue sky and the green in the trees on the side of the scene.

Samsung has been working on its own AI-powered personal assistant to compete with the likes of Cortana, Echo, Google Assistant and Siri, and has finally announced its release alongside the new flagship galaxy devices.

What's more, in a world where everything is going the way of the touchscreen, a dedicated button shows just how committed Samsung is to its digital assistant. The phone will support the voice acticvated assistant Bixby.

Philippines mobile operator Smart Communications has opened pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones.

Although not set to hit retailers' shelves until April 28, those who pre-order the phone before April 19 will get the phone as early as the 20th.
