Starbucks calls shifting-color drink a "Unicorn Frappuccino"

Starbucks calls shifting-color drink a

The drink will be available at participating Starbucks stores in the United States, Canada and Mexico from April 19 to April 23.

The drink starts off as purple, with a bit of blue swirls. One described it as a "7-Eleven Slurpee Frappucino" and another said that the counterbalance of sweet and sour made it taste "almost like fresh fruit". It not only changes color but also flavor, with the sweet and fruity taste transforming into tangy and tart once you mix it. Starbucks says its newest beverage not only changes colors with a stir of the straw, but flavors as well. The more you stir, the more the flavor and the color change. Coffee giant Starbucks is catching, saddling and riding this eye-popping food fad with the introduction of a limited Unicorn Frappuccino blended beverage. Restaurants have been offering buzzy items aimed at consumers who are likely to post a picture of it on Instagram or Facebook, which earns them free advertising.

The elusive unicorn from medieval legend has been making a comeback.

Social media has been abuzz with rumors of a new Starbucks drink for a while, and now, those rumors have been confirmed.

A CBS Detroit article said the blended crème drink will be made with sweet pink powder, mango syrup and a sour blue drizzle, topped whipped cream and pink and blue powder.
