Pearl Jam, Tupac, Yes, Journey to be inducted into Rock Hall

They were inducted alongside the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and Journey during a concert in NY.

Grunge rockers Pearl Jam and folk activist Joan Baez were two of this year's Rock Hall honorees.

Baez took her moment with the microphone to send a political message.

"One of the sweetest hug you can ever get from one of my heroes and silent mentors", said Pineda as he shared on Instagram a photo of him embracing the music legend.

Snoop Dogg accepted an award on behalf of the late Tupac Shakur and said that beyond being a great friend, Shakur was "the greatest rapper of all time".

According to WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio, Snoop credited 2Pac with being the person responsible for getting the Dogg to smoke blunts when he was growing up. It's a fact he never shied away from. "He wore it like a badge of honor".

Accepting his Award for Musical Excellent, Rodgers dedicated it to all the artists he had produced and worked with behind the scenes over the years, saying, "This award is unbelievable to me because of all the people who have allowed me to join their lives and their bands". Lenny Kravitz also payed homage to Prince among electric guitarists and a gospel-choir singing "Doves Cry" and "The Cross".

The relationship between Young and Pearl Jam dates back decades.

"Due to illness, Neil Young is regrettably no longer able to induct Pearl Jam at this Year's Induction Ceremony", the Rock Hall said in a statement on Wednesday.
