Belief in Wenger on the line in race for Champions League spot

Belief in Wenger on the line in race for Champions League spot

He is the in-form man for the Gunners but it remains to be seen if Alexis Sanchez will be wearing the red jersey of Arsenal next season.

Arsenal can also win the FA Cup but will be major underdogs against champions Chelsea, so face the prospect of yet another season without silverware as well as missing out on the Champions League qualification for the first time since the 1996/97 season.

Everton, who beat Arsenal 2-1 in the reverse fixture in December, can not finish higher or lower than seventh in the table.

His future, and that of Mesut Ozil and Wenger, will likely be decided this Sunday.

Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League and in the FA Cup final, but the latter part of their season has been overshadowed by fans calling for Wenger's exit.

Sanchez has now spoken on whether he could remain in North London, insisting the emphasis is on the club to make up his mind as to whether he stays or goes.

Alexis is described as liking London, and recently claimed he would love to play in the city with a team fighting to win the division, but whilst not naming the club, he is believed to have meant with his current side.

Without the promise of Champions League football, Sanchez, who despite the club's own disappointments has enjoyed a fruitful season, could be set to leave during the summer transfer window. "We want to keep him with us because we know he is so important for our team".

But Sanchez stated that his club's supporters should be grateful for the sheer amount of work and effort that Wenger has put into making the Gunners a force within European football during his two decade spell in charge. "Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern, they always buy more players and I think we can have the option to buy more players to be stronger every day".

"Because sometimes when I look at the team we have and the players here. because when it comes to winning the Premier League we often lose or draw against teams at home when we are superior", he added.
