Warriors' Game 5 win wraps up highly-watched NBA Finals

Yet the two-time reigning MVP and new NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant said Wednesday they would consider taking less money to keep the core of the champion Golden State Warriors intact.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Stephen Curry will likely go from being the NBA's biggest bargain to signing the richest contract in the league at more than $200 million.

And if he and the rest of the Warriors have their way, for years to come.

After all, Golden State has won two of the last three championships and only lost the other one thanks to an historic comeback by the Cavaliers. A fabulous first one with and for Durant. After the Game 5 loss in the 2017 NBA Finals, he stated that he was never a part of a superteam.

"We put in work, man. Stop telling that it wasn't earned or we didn't work for it, man".

The Warriors took the championship title away from the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night, winning Game 5 129-120 and the series 4-1. "Again, it just speaks to who he is as a person", Brown said. "I might call him and say, 'If they ask, just say our schedules conflicted.' And then if y'all write something, we'll say, 'Fake News'".

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr as well as star player Steph Curry and teammate David West have all spoken out against Donald Trump since the election.

Overall, the Warriors are 207-39 during Kerr's tenure as coach.

On Facebook, 38 million users had more than 209 million NBA-related interactions. Kevin's journey, our team embraced him. Some teams wouldn't embrace a guy who came into a situation like ours.

"Kevin's journey, our team embraced him", Myers said. "If you want to win, it doesn't matter". It's about winning. I think he knew that. Whenever he is asked about his own accomplishments, he is always quick to offer a reminder just as he did with a new National Basketball Association champions hat on his head: "It's a team sport".

"Everybody for the last 10 years knew how good he was but until you break through and win that first championship there's still something there".

But Curry doesn't dwell on the fact that he's pulling in less than his peers.

One moment late Monday captured the camaraderie that evolved. Assuming Durant and Curry re-up, the Warriors are heavy favorites to repeat in 2018. Is Durant now the game's best player? And if Hart were smart, he won't bet against Durant and the Golden State Warriors any time soon.

"We don't need or want to be talked about", Danny Green once said. "So for us to be able to do it in front of our home crowd, something I'll remember for a very long time".
