Smarter Siri and More Updates Arriving with iOS 11

Smarter Siri and More Updates Arriving with iOS 11

The biggest change is likely to see banking apps allow users to make payments from within their apps and London's Oyster card offered as a direct payment option on iPhone, bypassing Apple Pay altogether. The official tagline for iOS 11 reads: "A giant step for iPhone".

Apple's AirDrop feature can be super useful if you want to share a ton of photos with nearby, iPhone-wielding friends.

Apple's confirmed a brand new iOS 11 operating system and it plans to release it to select iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models sometime this fall.

The company sometimes uses WWDC to announce new products, as it did last night when it introduced the HomePod, (a smart home speaker introduced by Apple under the guise of "reinventing home music"), which is Apple's answer to the Amazon Echo or Google Home.

Apple's Phil Schiller unveils the new look App Store for iOS 11. Apple promises that iOS 11 will make your "iPad experience even more powerful and personal".

Siri will get a "more human voice" in iOS 11, and Maps will have new cities, better navigation, speed limits, and lane guidance.

In addition to the warning upon opening an app, iOS 10.3 can show you a list of all affected apps that are now installed. The new 10.5-inch iPad Pro starts at $32.49 a month for 24 months; 0% April, on Verizon device payment ($679.99 with a 2-yr contract, $779.99 full retail).

But otherwise, even if an app is now shown as having problems with iOS 11, there's every chance it will still get that life-saving update.

Apple this week also launched an updated App Store that adds original editorial features, a "Today" tab for daily announcements about new features, and other new tabs for Games, Apps and Updates.

Your beta testing could prevent a major problem or a minor bug from appearing in the final iOS 11 release for your device. A system-wide dark mode that changes the color scheme in all first- and third-party apps is something that iPhone users have been begging for each and every year for as long as we can remember. When you have installed it, go to Settings General Software Update and iOS 11 Beta will be available to install.
