Xbox One X vs. PS4 Pro - Power and Hardware Comparison

Xbox One X vs. PS4 Pro - Power and Hardware Comparison

This is true as the Xbox One X does feature a customized AMD graphics capable of 6 teraflops of performance alongside 12GB of GDDR5 RAM. "The money-making part is in selling games". To my mind, while the Xbox One X is definitely more powerful than the Pro, it is analogous.

Like most consoles before it, The Xbox One X will be a loss leader, with Microsoft taking a hit on the hardware, so they can make it up later on software sales.

It's impossible to say whether Microsoft will be making a loss on the Xbox One X, or merely breaking even, but we do know for sure that they'll be relying on selling lots of games to turn this into a profitable venture. "But I also know that in the gaming space, having a premium experience for the customer that wants that is critical", Spencer said.

Although the Xbox One X will indeed outperform the PS4 Pro, Microsoft kind of lacked some major first-party AAA titles during its E3 2017 announcement.

The Xbox One X will be backwards-compatible with all existing Xbox One games and accessories, meaning players won't need to replace their collections should they decide to jump on board.

Microsoft showed off dozens of games at E3, ranging from the super-slick racing simulator Forza Motorsport 7 to the rollicking, social pirate game Sea of Thieves to Anthem, an astonishing-looking sci-fi action game developed by BioWare in Edmonton, creators of the award-winning Mass Effect franchise. Without going into the numbers, Spencer further explained that hardware section of the console business is not the "money-making" part, it's the games section. It's a more powerful Xbox One, that will play some games in "True" Native 4K, while others will use methods like reprojection and checkerboard rendering to fill a 2160p framebuffer.

Spencer also added that he's been focused on hardware innovation, and that the Xbox One S and One X are the great products of that work.
