Woman grabs baby rattlesnake thinking it's a dog toy

She had just gotten out of the hot tub when she saw what appeared to be a rope in the driveway. I can't believe I picked up a snake.

Once she realized it was actually a snake, she immediately dropped it as her dog ran over to check on her.

"Oh my God, I can not believe my wife grabbed that thing with her hands", Ariel told KTLA while rewatching her terrified reaction caught on camera.

Carla, dressed in a robe and flip-flops, was on her way inside when her husband asked her to bring the dog.

Rosso said his wife mistook the baby rattlesnake for a rope when she picked it up. "Who picks up a snake?"

Los Angeles County firefighters came out and destroyed the snake. They say baby rattlers are even more unsafe than adults because they can't control their venom. But they know it could've ended quite differently.

The woman and her family, which includes three young girls, are thanking their lucky stars that no one got hurt.

Knowing that Carla wasn't bit, is it okay to laugh?

"Check it off my bucket list".
