Video of gaming Seattle officer discussing shooting removed

The officers went to the apartment - where several children were present - after a call Sunday morning about a burglary, police said.

Her family and community members blasted the cops' decision to use deadly force: "Why couldn't they have Tased her?" said Lyles' sister, Monika Williams.

They arrived to her apartment knowing of a previous incident she had with police earlier in the month.

Suddenly, though, a confrontation erupted.

On Thursday, Seattle police released Lyles' 911 call and a video recording from her hallway, showing the 24 hours leading up to the shooting.

The mother of four said in the 911 call that she had gone out and come home to find someone had broken in.

Seattle has been under a 2012 consent decree with the U.S. Justice Department that resolved allegations of unconstitutional policing.

"She was talking normally and interacting with us normally and then all of a sudden, she's trying to stab me with a knife", Anderson recalled.

On June 5, Lyles was arrested and charged with obstruction and harassment after police say she refused officers' orders to drop metal shears. She adored her four children. There are sounds of rapid movement, the woman yelling "Get ready, (expletive)!" and the police repeatedly warning her to get back before five shots are fired.

Infuriated after a pregnant black woman was shot and killed by police, protesters marched from the apartment building where Charleena Lyles died to downtown Seattle on Thursday night. "We'll conduct this investigation thoroughly".

During the June 21 Twitch broadcast about Lyles, Whitcomb addressed shortcomings in the mental health system, expressing remorse that Seattle officers ended the 30-year-old's life. They calmly discuss an X-Box video game console being taken and roughly 15 seconds later, officers could be heard saying "Get back! And that's why we have to say, once again, murder is murder is murder is murder". She said she will miss having that support.

Among the documents' main points, Anderson reported he had both pepper spray and a baton and McNew had a club (neither had Tasers), but they said they were left with no choice but to use lethal force. Some questioned why non-lethal options weren't used in the case.
