Cristiane 'Cyborg' Justino vs. Tonya Evinger Set for UFC 214

Cristiane 'Cyborg' Justino vs. Tonya Evinger Set for UFC 214

Meanwhile, Megan Anderson has issued a statement after withdrawing for the fight, and though she stops short of explaining exactly why she bowed out, she is still insisting that she'll fight for the title at a later date. That's because Invicta FC bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger has stepped in to replace Anderson.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN reported that Megan Anderson had to pull out of her scheduled title fight with Justino due to personal reasons, and that the Invicta FC bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger will take her place in the co-main event.

"I'm always training to evolve technically with each fight", she said.

"I think I match up better than any of her other opponents", Evinger added, while discussing her bout with Justino. "I'm prepared to fight anyone".

As for "Cyborg", she is undoubtedly the most dominant female fighter in MMA, having won 19 of her 20 career fights, including 17 by way of T/KO. It will be a great fight and I believe that, with Tonya, it will be an even more exciting fight for the fans than the fight with Megan.

Just when Cris "Cyborg" Justino thought she was in, well ... she's not exactly out. After Germaine de Randamie beat Holly Holm for its original title, longtime 145-pound queen Justino seemed like the logical choice to challenge the champ. She was later stripped of the title after refusing to fight Cyborg - who the division was created for. Cyborg on the other hand has finished all but one fight via strikes since making her professional debut back in 2005. That July 15 card will now be headlined by Milana Dudieva vs. Mara Romero Borella.

Evinger has held the Invicta 135-pound title for two years but had planned on going up in weight prior to the announcement.
