Fox Suspends Host Charles Payne Amid Explosive Sexual Assault Allegations

More upheaval at Fox: The company has confirmed that longtime Fox Business Network host Charles Payne has been suspended while sexual harassment allegations are investigated. Hughes, whose contract was not renewed by CNN after the election, returned to her native Tennessee and has recently expressed interest in running for Congress. He is married and a father, and acknowledged the extra-marital affair on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 while apologizing to his family. HuffPost reported that the woman who came forward is political analyst Scottie Nell Hughes, and that Hughes believes that not only did Payne retaliate against her for ending the relationship, but that then-Fox News and Fox Business co-President Bill Shine and the network itself were involved.

A spokesman for the channel said that the company takes 'issues of this nature extremely seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for any professional misconduct'. A spokesman for the network said, "This matter is being thoroughly investigated, and we are taking all of the appropriate steps to reach a resolution in a timely manner".

The unnamed accuser contacted 21st Century Fox's lawyers to allege her appearances on Fox were cut after she ended her affair with Mr Payne, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Charles Payne, host of the network's "Making Money" show, defended himself on Twitter on Friday.

She also worked as an unpaid guest commentator on Fox from 2013-2016 during which time she began having an affair with the married father, according to the Los Angeles Times.

This is far from the first instance a high profile on-air Fox personality is being accused of sexual misconduct. Ailes, Bill O'Reilly and other employees were fired amidst multiple sexual harassment claims.

Payne's attorney told the Times he "categorically denies" sexually harassing the analyst.

But the biggest departure came a year ago when former boss Roger Ailes was forced to resign amid a flurry of sexual misconduct allegations.
