Instagram allows users to reply to Stories

If you're the one who sent the Story and someone replied to it, you can find the messages inside of the Direct Inbox from the main screen in the app.

When you're viewing a friend's Story, a new camera icon is visible at the bottom left.

Better, because you can make your reaction video as amusing and silly as you please, resting assured that once your recipient views the video, it will disappear forever and no one will ever be able to see it again.

Watching Instagram stories is undeniably addictive, but have you ever felt like words and emojis just aren't enough for the witty reply you had planned? Check out the Instagram's new feature with your accounts and tell us what you think of it. Those messages, which can - of course - be decorated with animated face filters or sent as looping Boomerang videos, will appear in your inbox.

And if one takes a screenshot, the sender will get the notification.

The war for your content between Instagram and Snapchat stories just got a little more heated. The images remain online for 24-hours. If there is no Update button to be seen, the most recent version is already on the device you're working with.

The new feature opens the way for the photo sharing app to "be even more fun and playful when you respond to friends" but may repel a whole lot more people to its rival Snapchat.

This may not seem like a huge feature update, but it's likely to help increase the conversational engagement of Stories considerably.
