Pak summons Indian envoy over LoC firing

Pak summons Indian envoy over LoC firing

Pakistan Army began indiscriminate firing and shelling on Indian positions in Gulpur.

The jawan has been identified as Mohammad Showkat and his wife Saifa Bi.

In Jammu and Kashmir, husband and wife were killed while their three children were injured in Pakistani shelling in Poonch district today. "Two individuals embraced shahdat while three citizens were injured", the statement concluded. The martyred jawan had come home on leave.

The army men effectively and strongly retaliated, Mehta said. Deputy high commissioner J P Singh was summoned by Pakistan' Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the killing of two of their nationals along the LoC, allegedly in firing by Indian troops. They have fired at five to six hamlets, the officer said.

Zargar said ambulances are kept on alert mode in border areas to shift the victims of cross-LoC firing to hospitals at the earliest.

The injured army men were evacuated to army hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment.

No militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Indian security forces unleashed brutal use of force on civilian population living at Line of Control as the people in the occupied Kashmir valley are observing first death anniversary of Burhan Muzaffar Wani.
