Novak Djokovic into Wimbledon quarter-finals after Mannarino tussle

Novak Djokovic into Wimbledon quarter-finals after Mannarino tussle

Three-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic eases into the quarter-finals with a straight-sets win over Adrian Mannarino.

On Saturday, his former coach Boris Becker said he had witnessed enough in the first week of Wimbledon to confirm that the Serb has rediscovered his love for the sport."Boris knows me very well".

On her court placing for her match against Elina Svitolina, Ostapenko said: "I think I deserve to play on a better court than Court 12".

Williams said: "I'm sure that the women, we would want more matches on Centre or Court One over the whole fortnight".

Novak Djokovic says Wimbledon should introduce a final-set tie-break in order to help schedule matches.

Despite a slight rise in level from the Frenchman, Djokovic broke again to secure the first set and added an early break at the start of the second to assume complete control.

"He wanted me to show him, so I showed him", Djokovic said at a news conference.

The fourth seed struggled against a player ranked No51 in the world and midway through the third set he sought treatment for what looked to be an upper arm or shoulder problem. "But I'm still managing to play, which is the most important thing".

Djokovic, a three-time Wimbledon champion and 12-time Grand Slam victor, initially expressed his disappointment with the court condition following a third-round victory over Ernests Gulbis on Saturday.

Now with both over 30, there was an element of experience coming into play - Nadal has far more that the deeper levels of a slam, but Muller's gritty determination as much as anything kept the ball in play.

Federer followed Djokovic on Centre Court and described it as "a tad slippery" after losing his footing during one point in a victory over Mischa Zverev, who also took a tumble.

Djokovic, who was twice treated for a shoulder injury during his win over Mannarino, will have just a day to recover before taking on world No.15 and 2010 runner-up Tomas Berdych for a place in the semi-finals.

The leading betting company in terms of live streaming, Bet365 showcase over 70,000 events every year, including some of the biggest football matches of the season.

Mannarino has never before reached the quarterfinals at any of the four Grand Slam tournaments. But gradually, after a period of uncertainty that had lasted half an hour, Djokovic reasserted himself and won out 7-5.

The All England Club announced that the rain would continue for the time being, but Novak Djokovic's fourth-round match against Adrian Mannarino would start as scheduled with the roof closed for the first time this year.

The 8th game turned out to be the longest of the match, Mannarino wasted 3 game points and he got broken in the end, as Novak sealed the set by 6-2.
