It's Almost Time! 'Doctor Who': 13th Doctor to be Revealed on Sunday

Peter Capaldi recently completed three seasons as the 12th incarnation of the beloved character.

The one-minute long clip showed various famous landmarks from around the world, including Number 10 Downing Street in London, The Statue of Liberty in New York City, and more with the number 13 appearing repeatedly.

The next actor to play the Doctor will be announced on Sunday after the Wimbledon Men's Final on BBC One. BBC will be announcing who will be taking Peter Capaldi's place as the Doctor after the Wimbledon men's final.

Capaldi is stepping down this Christmas in a special episode which also stars David Bradley as the First Doctor, originally played by William Hartnell between 1963-66. Speculation has been tossed around for a few regenerations now that the next Doctor would be a woman, ranging back to when Billie Piper was up for the role of 11. Fans and betting sites alike have gone through what feels like hundreds of names to try and suss out who may be next to man the TARDIS-with many folks sincerely hoping that it won't, in fact, be a man at the helm at all (even though some doubt they will take that risk). He's also the creator and showrunner of Broadchurch, whose finale aired this past April.

Death In Paradise star Kris Marshall is the odds-on favourite to succeed Capaldi, according to bookies Coral. It has always been known that his last show will be this year's special Christmas episode, at the end of which his Time Lord will "regenerate" into the "Thirteenth Doctor", who will be played by a new cast member.

Whatever your choice of Time Lord catchphrase, Whovians rejoice - the thirteenth Doctor will be revealed in just two days time!
