PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Getting FOV Slider In July Update

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Getting FOV Slider In July Update

This change has been requested by many who say it will make the game more "hardcore" by removing the ability to use third-person perspective to get a better angle to see around obstacles and the like. That has not stopped the development team from continuing to improve the title, though, with the addition of the first-person only server just one of many examples.

So that's fair- for now, might as well enjoy it in third person.

Taking to Twitter, PUBG Creator, Brendan Greene announced that players will be able to venture out in first-person servers. Players can technically switch between third-person and first-person views at will, but the vast majority of players prefer to stick to third-person.

The PUBG subreddit is pretty ecstatic about the news, as first-person servers have been high on their wish-list for some time now.

The first-person servers will only be available on solo and duo playlists in European Union and NA regions at first, in order to weed out any bugs, with other regions following suit later.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has accumulated a massive following ever since it was added to Steam's Early Access program in March.

Purists that like to play the game in first person view will be happy to know that servers dedicated to the first person mode will be hitting PU Battlegrounds in the next monthly update.
