Saif Ali Khan headlines cast of Netflix original series 'Sacred Games'

Since Verma is the writer of the 2011 film Delhi Belly, known for its toilet humour, Saif is all set for a quirky collaboration with Verma in Kaalakandi.

Verma is set to take movie-goers on another roller-coaster ride with his directorial debut. It is produced by Rohit Khattar and Ashi Dua's Cinestaan Film Company Pvt Ltd. It is a thrilling comedy drama which says the life of six different characters and how they all are connected at one point. Kaalakaandi is going to be a raucous tale about life, death and karma that barrels through one monsoon night.

Netflix has cast Saif Ali Khan in the lead role for its first Indian original, Sacred Games, based on Vikram Chandra's 2007 book of the same name.

"His role is layered and complex, and we are thrilled to be working with such a fantastic actor to bring this story to a global audience", Barmack added. The movie also features Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raz, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam in crucial roles.

According to a source in the know of developments, the script was written specifically with Saif in mind.

He was last seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's period romance Rangoon which failed to succeed at the box office. The actor can be seen doing some insane things in the teaser and he has no idea what he is doing. Shashwat Sachdev composed the music. As part of the deal, new films starring Indian superstar SRK would be exclusively available to more than 86 million members globally.
