Value of Denver Broncos jumps in latest Forbes rankings

Value of Denver Broncos jumps in latest Forbes rankings

This week, Forbes released their "World's 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams" ranking, and three Chicago sports organizations made the list, with two of those three coming in the top 20. The total value on the team is now an estimated $1.95 billion, which is a 32% increase from last year's value of $1.48 billion. This is $77 million more than Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Cowboys, named the most valuable team in sports for the second straight year, this time at $4.2 billion, topped 29 National Football League teams among the world's 50 most valuable.

The NFL wasn't the only league to experience a rise in value, as the cutoff to qualify increased 18 percent this year to $1.75 billion.

The Baltimore Orioles, Washington Capitols and Washington Wizards were not ranked in the top 50.

Forbes estimates the Cowboys' value at $4.2 billion, dwarfing the New York Yankees' runner-up status at $3.7 billion.

For the first time in five years, Manchester United have been named the most valuable football club by Forbes.

The Los Angeles Rams (formerly of St. Louis) made the list at No. 12 overall, and valued at $2.9 billion.
