Shep Smith Knocks Trump's Habit of Watching 'Fox & Friends'

Fox News host Shepard Smith couldn't contain his frustration while reporting Friday on the latest details surrounding Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer a year ago. Smith was reacting to breaking news, at the time, that Trump Jr.'s attorney confirmed an eighth person attended his client's meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya.

The constant stream of lies coming from Donald Trump's White House and his inner circle has reached a new level of absurdity when even Fox News doesn't know what to say.

On Twitter, the president has repeatedly praised "Fox & Friends".

"We're still not clean on this, Chris", Smith lamented. "And, one day, they're gonna realize we're not and look around and go, Where are we, and why are we getting told all these lies?"

As the Post noted, Smith usually doesn't hide his criticism of the Trump administration.

"They tell us there's nothing to this", Smith said, building steam, "that nothing came of it, it's a nothingburger, it wasn't even memorable, I didn't write it down, didn't tell you about it because it wasn't anything so I didn't even remember it!" Earlier this year, he, again, called out the Trump administration for lying about their interaction with Russian Federation.

"The deception, Chris, is mind-boggling", the host added, before turning his focus to Trump's dedicated supporters. He took White House officials to task over their failure to disclose meetings with Russian officials and nationals during the president's 2016 presidential campaign and transition period before he took office.

While discussing this new information, Wallace commented to Smith, "Who knows if we've gotten to the end of this story?"

SMITH: Fox News can now confirm: new.

The host's impassioned line of questioning left commentator Chris Wallace at a loss for words, responding, "I don't know what to say".
