Delta Airlines responds to Ann Coulter tirade: 'Your insults are unacceptable & unnecessary'

Delta Airlines responds to Ann Coulter tirade: 'Your insults are unacceptable & unnecessary'

In a statement, repeated on Twitter, the airline criticized Ms. Coulter for "posting derogatory and slanderous comments and photos in social media" about its employees and customers.

Coulter unleashed a flood towards the airline after she had to move from a seat (with extra leg room) that she had pre-booked to another seat in the same row. And perhaps Coulter could have realized that moving over three seats for a short-haul flight isn't that big of a deal, and if she wanted more pampering she could have flown first class.

Hey @Delta, if it was so important for the dachshund-legged woman to take my seat, she should have BOOKED THE SEAT IN ADVANCE. She started with a jab, which became one out of more than 40 tweets directed at the company.

In her email, she complained that it was not enough for "Delta to boss customers around when we're in their control".

According to a Delta spokesperson, there was no confusion during the flight as all the passengers had complied and the flight took off on time. Her tirade was remarkable, if only for the shocking detail of her choosing an airline that recently banned a ranting pro-Trump passenger for life.

She continued berating the airline in a stream of tweets, calling Delta the "suckiest" airline and suggesting a new motto for the airline.

Coulter also accused Delta of having non-working Wi-Fi, "probably to prevent passengers from tweeting from the plane about how they're being treated". But on Saturday, Coulter used her Twitter account to publicly rebuke Delta Airlines. "Her actions are unnecessary and unacceptable", the airline said. "We're sorry you did not receive the preferred seat you paid for and will refund your $30", the airline wrote to her.

Was it really necessary to take photos of a young woman, without even bothering to ask her name? Ann Coulter was quoted as describing her experience with secuity at the Harrisburg, PA airport as, "took special care in waving the wand over my barefeet - barefeet! - but then quickly turned to the main issue at hand: the risk of an exploding bra".

Not surprisingly, Delta's reply to her tweetstorm hasn't assuaged Coulter.

Nevertheless, some of Ann's fans jumped to her defense.
