Niantic to Release Legendary Pokemon on July 22

Niantic to Release Legendary Pokemon on July 22

Fans of the game have been asking for legendary monsters to be included in the game's official roster, and it appears that players can get their hands on legendary monsters at "Pokemon GO" Fest this July 22.

The first-ever Pokemon Go Fest-held Saturday at Grant Park in Chicago-was forced to refund its approximately 15,000 to 20,000 attendees after it proved near-impossible for them to actually play Pokemon Go at the event, the Chicago Tribune reports.

These legendary Pokemon can be used on raids, but cannot be used to guard gyms, as they are unwilling to leave their trainers' sides. Here's what you need to know about Legendary Pokemon finally coming to Pokemon Go. In order for the legendary Pokemon to begin appearing, two things must happen.

Because of the refunds, it's unclear whether Niantic still plans to move forward with the Legendary Pokemon Raid, which was supposed to serve as the climax of the event. After that, they'll have to work together to take down and capture the Legendary Raid Boss.

This doesn't mean they will show up for normal Trainers though, they're only available to those who have an original QR Code. Niantic is still working on the three recognized issues as fast as possible. The only difference, however, is that players can't use a legendary Pokemon to defend a gym.

Once Legendary Pokemon are in the game, trainers will need to treat them a bit differently from their mundane counterparts. if you can call a giant yellow mouse that shoots lightning out of its cheeks mundane. Hopefully that will keep rare Legendary Pokemon from dominating the metagame too much.

As Pokemon GO players prepare for the exciting activities of Pokemon GO Fest in Chicago today, there's a new reason to get pumped for the festivities.

"We didn't envision the day going this way".
