President of US Trump says transgender people won't be allowed in military

President of US Trump says transgender people won't be allowed in military

The incident is a reminder that Trump has no clue as to the awesome responsibilities of the presidency. "There is no reason to force service members who are able to fight, train, and deploy to leave the military -regardless of their gender identity".

One Ohio National Guard member is now in the process of becoming a man.

Some of those senators also attacked Trump's decision.

"The Department of Defense is awaiting formal guidance from the White House as a follow-up to the commander-in-chief's announcement on military service by transgender personnel", Pentagon spokesman Dana White said in a statement July 27. Heidi Heitkamp, among the Democrats facing the toughest re-election battles in 2018.

"That's the equivalent of being a convicted felon in American society", said Ortega, 30, who transitioned to a male in 2009, seven years before leaving the military after serving multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's easy to only pay attention to issues that affect you personally, or to prioritize an issue like the Obamacare repeal that affects more people, or the Russian scandal, which focuses on the very validity of Trump's presidency.

It is unclear what the ban will mean for currently-serving transgender soldiers.

"When the stakes are as high as the safety and security of the United States, we should always have an open door for the best, most talented patriots", Donnelly said in a statement. "Shelby that everybody should be treated fairly and given a chance to serve".

Many transgender veterans took to Twitter to show how they had served their country, and to question the logic of the ban.

"G he thinks two men should just be friends, <
blockquote>B to his dumb knowledge is just a phase in college, T he finds confusing so the army is now refusingTrans women who only want to serve,
Trans men who want rights we all deserve."
Before that she presented herself as a gay man first working in an intelligence unit, then serving in a medical one. Pat McCrory's loss in his re-election bid in 2016.

"One, it takes people out of the military", he noted, "their ability to serve for a year or so as they go through this, the amount of cost, wanting to make sure that money was going to the military itself, to our equipment and other needs that we have for the military".

"Just over a year now transgender people were able to openly serve, so thousands of transgender people came out openly", said Cathy Serino, a Missouri Army veteran. John McCain of Arizona, Sen. John McCain, criticized his broad tweets that left unanswered questions about whether thousands of transgender people now serving in the military will be kicked out.

"At this point it's just a tweet", said Jonah Minot. West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin also cited McCain.

"I'm not surprised that the administration has come out like this", Russell said on C-Span's Washington Journal.

Trump likely wanted to change the subject from the heat he is facing over his public criticism of his own attorney general, Jeff Sessions, Krauthammer said, as well as the failure of the Senate to pass multiple Obamacare repeal efforts. But on the ground in North Carolina, Tami Fitzgerald was elated. "There should be no discrimination", Hatch told me today.
