Man United after Bale

Man United after Bale

Bale has been rumoured as the likeliest to make way for the 18-year-old and United are prepared to pay up to £90m to sign the former Tottenham star. Real Madrid could initiate the sale process soon. The forward can play anywhere across the front three (though best suited in the wings) and his pace is something which will create trouble for Premier League defenders.

Ronald Koeman had wanted Gunners forward Olivier Giroud, but with the France international seemingly uninterested in moving to Merseyside, Welbeck could become the focus.

There was originally a feeling that United would submit a bid of that size next summer but, given recent developments, it appears the situation has changed. He's already losing minutes to Isco, and his role with the club will continue to diminish if Mbappé makes the switch.

In the past few days, the rumour mill has once again been linking Gareth Bale with a possible move to Man United.

United have been eyeing Bale since his time as a left-back at Southampton.

The amount corresponds with the Neymar clause that both Real and PSG valued paying the previous summer (192m euros).

Bale lost his place to Isco towards the end of last season due to injury worries and is no longer an indispensable member of the first team.

Ever a master of passive-aggressiveness, he noted after the last friendly that he was pleased with the work that Manchester United have done so far in the transfer market, but that he was still a player short.

"I never felt a desire from him to leave, so why lose time and energy on that?" In the one season he's played at Juventus, Higuain scored 24 Serie A goals and five Champions League goals as Juventus won Serie A comfortably and reached the Champions League final. A deal that would see the Spaniard join Madrid this summer is highly unlikely as Jose Mourinho made it clear in a pre-season press conference that the goalkeeper would be staying at Old Trafford for at least another season.

"He's got great players like Cristiano Ronaldo to keep learning from".
