Scaramucci: Bannon's 'toleration' of white nationalism is 'inexcusable'

Scaramucci: Bannon's 'toleration' of white nationalism is 'inexcusable'

"If the President really wants to execute that legislative agenda that I think is so promising for the American people... then he has to move away from that sort of Bannonbart nonsense".

"The whole thing is nonsensical", Scaramucci said.

"I think there are elements inside of Washington, also inclusive in the White House, that are not necessarily abetting the president's interests or his agenda".

"You also got this sort of "Bannonbart" influence in there, which I think is a snag on the president", he stated.

Scaramucci is still a supporter of Trump's, saying that the president "can be a tough coach at times" but "this guy's a victor".

Breitbart has close ties with the alt-right movement, an ideology that can be associated with white nationalism.

He added: "With the moral authority of the President you have to call that stuff out".

Trump said he condemned "hatred, bigotry and violence - on many sides. on many sides".

The former White House staffer's comments come at the same time Trump's daughter Ivanka took to social media to condemn the racist violence that saw one man driver a auto into a crowd of people.

Scaramucci spoke to ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos on ABC News' "This Week" today in his first television interview since his whirlwind 11-day stint in the White House.

He continued: "He's got to move more into the mainstream, he's got to be more into where the moderates are and the independents are that love the president". And so if he does that, he'll have a very successful legislative agenda that he'll be able to execute.

White House National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster wouldn't say whether he could work with chief strategist Steve Bannon Sunday on "Meet The Press", dodging the question three times. And if he doesn't do that, you're going to see this inertia and you're going to see this resistance from more of the establishment senators that he needs to curry favor with.

In late July, the White House announced that Scaramucci resigned from his position after just 10 days in office to allow newly appointed communications director to have "a clean slate and the ability to build his own team". I could hear a lot of Steve Bannon's words in some of his speeches.

"It could be an America of yesteryear", said Scaramucci, again seemingly unaware of Breitbart News' coverage from Charlottesville.

"It was going to be very hard for me to stay in the job, given the fact the Gen. Kelly took over and so I respect Gen. Kelly", he added.
