Android Oreo Pixel launcher now available for all devices

HTC USA Twitter post has confirmed this information. One of its laudable feature updates is the new Pixel launcher, which non-Pixel phone owners can now get. Developers tinkering with the developer releases of Android Oreo have found evidence suggesting that Google may finally be willing to implement a powerful theming engine in stock Android, and now we have further evidence in support for this.

But, folks at Substratum seem to have found a way to get these themes work on any device that's on Android 8.0 Oreo without having to root it.

As noted, it was in June 2017 when HTC U11 received its very first update. "Stay tuned for more Oreo details & new products!"

Another tweet mentioned that the update will be rolled out to all the HTC users worldwide.

Google's Android 8.0 comes with some new features like "Picture-in-Picture mode", which will let users watch a YouTube video, do a video chat, etc while keeping another app open.

Having system-wide themes was possible before too via the Substratum theme framework that has been around for over a year, but you were required to root your Android device. The devices also offer additional features like 12 MP rear-facing camera with OIS and PDAF, IP67 rating and USB type C for the faster charging and data transfer speed. There are devices other than the Pixel and Nexus lineup those will get the update within the end of this year.

As of now, few settings like the option to change the shape of icons and Google wallpapers are not seen on a few devices, hopefully, this might be rectified in the upcoming updates.
