Security Tightened In Punjab Ahead Of Ram Rahim's Sentencing: Amarinder Singh

Authorities have suspended mobile internet services (including 2G, 3G, 4G, CDMA and GPRS) and all SMS services and all dongle services provided on mobile networks, except voice calls for the next three days, while shops in Panchkula and Sirsa have been shut and stadiums converted into temporary jail complexes. Meanwhile, former Harayana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said violence had erupted in Haryana after the verdict and asked the state government to resign.

Following which, the security forces opened fire to control the mob.

-District administration and police sealed two ashrams of Dera Sacha Sauda in Haryana's Kurukshetra.

Section 144 was imposed in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand's Nainital and Noida, Ghaziabad and Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.

After a CBI court's verdict on Friday, the Dera supporters went berserk setting ablaze vehicles and damaging properties in Haryana's Panchkula town.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged officials to work round the clock to restore normalcy and provide all possible assistance that is required. The main leaders of Dera Sacha Sauda, who are likely to instigate followers, are either being taken into custody or arrested.

Khattar and his ministers have been seen associating with Gurmeet Ram Singh, who has several other cases, including that of murder, pending against him, apart from the rape case he was convicted for today.

- Passengers have been stranded at Bathinda railway station due to curfew imposed in Punjab.
