Xbox One still set to get keyboard and mouse support

Xbox One still set to get keyboard and mouse support

When it does end up in games, he says Microsoft will "coach developers", making sure they give players the choice in competitive games of whether they're playing against users with controllers or with keyboards. However, it still remains to be seen how developers implement this, and how it would impact console gaming in general once it arrives. Ybarra says that's "based on developer interest".

During the PAX West Panel event, Xbox Director Mike Ybarra discussed the matter.

Would a keyboard and mouse-equipped Xbox One be enough to sway you over to the console realm or are your roots firmly planted in the PC? Will studios honor Microsoft's recommendations? The Xbox One Enhanced marking will be stated on the back of the game along with it's other features like Co-op and Xbox Live requirement so you can easily spot it when you are searching for your next favorite videogame. Which is a cross platform title, and I sincerely hope that they can properly balance the keyboard and mouse so those that are using the peripheral do not gain an unfair advantage over those who use a controller. The first group might be able to maneuver more quickly, for example.

However, Microsoft has said that support would not be mandatory. A lot of people tweet me and say 'you can't do this because of fairness, ' and we understand that. Mr Ybarra reassured console players that there would be functionality, allowing them to choose whether to choose their opponents.

It remains to be seen how developers approach this soon, but hopefully, they tackle the imbalance issues accordingly.

As you may know, Microsoft no longer shares how many Xbox consoles it sells during its quarterly earning results, and the company didn't reveal either how many Xbox One X consoles have been pre-ordered so far. Feel free to sound off in the comments section below!
