Kelly Clarkson Announces The Album She's 'Always Wanted To Make'

In June 2016 Kelly Clarkson announced that she'd signed a new, long-term deal with Atlantic Records and was beginning work on an album influenced by soul and R&B.

From the looks of her album art, Clarkson isn't holding back on this record, and she's ready to channel her inner diva - and show off her pipes - and we couldn't be more excited to hear her back on the radio. "Love So Soft" is the first taste of her new music.

Not since Beauty and the Beast have we wanted a yellow dress so badly. As a result, she had total control of the project, and in a Q&A with fans on YouTube she raved about the album. The record itself doesn't drop until next month (October 27, 2017), but you can listen to her first single now. In May of this year at a conference in Nashville, she promised: "It's got a lot of sass - like I might beat you up with my sound", calling the album a mixture of "urban, pop, soulful R&B".

NEW YORK NEW YORK- SEPTEMBER 06 Kelly Clarkson performs songs from her new album

It felt like she was possibly going to go down some sort of boring and balladic path, but Love So Soft is a BOP and Move You is some next level gospel shit. We have already started creating a record that I have been wanting to make since I was a little girl, and a record that fans have been asking me to make for years.

The singer added, "Although I am extremely thankful to the incredible people that I've had the chance to work with, I can not describe the excitement of working with Julie Greenwald, Craig Kallman and their team at Atlantic Records".

"Clarkson will perform" Love So Soft" and "Move You" (available as an instant grat download with pre-orders of the album), Friday morning on NBC's "Today" show Citi Concert Series.
