Active shooter reported at New Hampshire's biggest hospital

Suspect is in custody, Lebanon police confirm.

The hospital is locked down and local and state police are on site.

A person has been taken into custody in connection to reports of an active shooter at New Hampshire's largest hospital.

Lebanon police said they are still securing the area to make sure there are no further hazards at the scene.

Neither police nor hospital officials identified the suspect and did not say if anyone was hurt. There are no reports that any shots have been fired.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon is now locked down following reports of an active shooter in the hospital.

A witness told TV station NBC5 that there was an active shooter on the fourth floor. Employees were asked to evacuate if they felt safe doing so.

The active-shooter alert forced authorities to issue evacuation and shelter-in-place orders.

Tim Ball, business administrator for Lebanon's public schools, said the district placed all five of its schools on lockdown as a precaution.
